McNEAL
Joan M. McNeal, 73, of London, a loving mother and devoted wife, was called home to be with Jesus at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in the Arbors at London.
Born Oct. 30, 1938, in Pike County, Ohio, she was a daughter of Richard Elmer and Elizabeth M. (Scales) Jackson.
A member of the Greater Bethel Apostolic Assembly, Joan loved The Lord. She enjoyed telling others how good Jesus was to her and all that He has brought her through. She was a very thoughtful, kind, and giving person. She served as an usher at the church and was also very active in the London Peewee Football League, which was started by her husband Gary.
Joan worked at the former Canfield Factory in London, was a secretary for the late Attorney Fred Scurry and had also worked retail clothing here in London.
Survivors are her sons, DonaldĀ and Juan McNeal, both of London, and Gary McNeal of Columbus; two daughters, Regina Wilson and Cheryl McNeal, both of London; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Richard E. (Judy) Jackson of London, and Paul W. (Gloria) Jackson of Chillicothe; a sister, Alice J. Harris of Mt. Sterling; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friends, Janet Malone and Violet McGath.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gary Gordon McNeal, who died Jan. 1, 2007.
Friends may call at the Fountain of Truth Ministries, 135 Maple St., London, from 4 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012. Rev. Howard Collier will be officiating. Interment services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Oak Hill Cemetery in London.
