JUTZI
Edith Irene Jutzi, 85, of Plain City, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct. 23, 2012, at the Edgewater Retirement Community, Plain City.
Born on Sept. 7, 1927, in Brunner, Ontario, Canada, to the late Rudy and Elizabeth (Gerber) Nafziger.
She married Amos Jutzi on Sept. 1, 1948. They immigrated to Yellow House, Pennsylvania in 1950.
In 1957 they moved to a dairy farm near Danville, Pennsylvania. In 1973 they moved to a farm in Leroy, Minnesota and 1983 retired in Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos in 1994; a sister, Catherine; a grandson, Jerry Groff; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Jutzi.
She was a homemaker, wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, loved to make quilts, read and knit. Many people enjoyed the hats, mittens, sweaters and scarves she knitted. For many years she donated 50 knitted items a year to missions.
Her faith was very important to her and she was a member of the United Bethel Mennonite Church.
Survived by five children, C. Paul (Priscilla) Jutzi of Reading, Pennsylvania, Bev (Sam) Groff of Washingtonville, Pennsylvania, Don (Kelly Swenson) Jutzi of Hager City, Wisconsin, Mary Jane (Cecil) Swartzentruber of Richwood, Robert (Debbie) Jutzi of Newark; 12 grandchildren, Loren (Jenn) Jutzi, Dustin, Jutzi, Jeff (Carla) Groff, James (Brenda) Groff, Jethro Groff, Janelle (Joseph) Weaver, Tammy (Joseph) Kremer, Connie Jutzi, Brandon (Jenn) Jutzi, Cynthia (Frank) Weldele, Nick (Whitney) Swartzentruber, and Kyle Swartzentruber; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irma (Nelson) Swartzentruber, Alta (Elroy) Swartzentruber and Marie Nafziger, all of Ontario, Canada.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the United Bethel Mennonite Church, 11342 Lafayette-Plain City Road, Plain City, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, with burial at the United Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Christian Aid Ministries.
