Virgie K. Braithwaite, 87, of West Jefferson, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.

She was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Madison County, the daughter of the late Alva and Hazel Bussard.

Virgie is survived by daughter, Annette Underwood of West Jefferson; son, Fred (Jane) Braithwaite of West Jefferson; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Meeks, Betty McKenzie, Martha Sue Hall, Donna Sue Hall; brothers, Ernie and Carl Bussard; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Earl Braithwaite; three sons, Arthur, Dave, and Earl “Dennis” Braithwaite; six brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, in the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012. Rev. Glade May will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
