DORN
Marlene L. Dorn, 75, of South Solon, left to be with Jesus at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Madison County, she was a daughter of Eugene and Florence (Cox) Leslie.
She was a member of the Sedalia Church of Christ in Christian Union and the Madison County Senior Center where she enjoyed the fellowship at both.
A 1955 graduate of Madison Rural School. She also enjoyed playing the piano.
Survivors are her childhood sweetheart and husband of 56 years, Norman Dorn; a son, Randall “Randy” Dorn of South Solon; a daughter, Teresa “Terri” (Keith) Rapp of West Jefferson; grandchildren, Briana, Aaron, and Whitney Rapp; a sister, Betsy Lightner of Downey, California; nieces and nephews and cousins; an aunt, Dorothy Lower of Springfield; brother-in-law, Harley Donaldson of Columbus; and sister-in-law, Verna Mae Dorn of London.
Marlene enjoyed spending time with her family and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Martha Medina, June Donaldson, and Norma Shoaf; and a brother, Charles Leslie.
Friends may call at the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main St., in London, from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in the Sedalia Church of Christ in Christian Union. Rev. Gordon Ell will be officiating. Interment will follow in Range Township Cemetery in Sedalia.
