OVI checkpoints announced

Authorities have announced two locations for sobriety checkpoints to be held Friday night.
West: The Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers along with West Jefferson officers will be holding a sobriety checkpoint on U.S. 40 in West Jefferson Friday night.
The checkpoint will operate from 9 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday.
Southeast: Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol along with Lancaster police and the Fairfield County Sheriff’s office will hold a sobriety checkpoint Friday night on East Main Street just east of Graceland Drive in Lancaster.
The checkpoint will operate from 9 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday.
The OVI checkpoints are funded by federal grants and are intended to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
