Fall Sports: Girls Tennis preview
London
The London girls tennis team has a talent returning with six letterwinners back this year.
Morgan Brewer and Kayla McDaniel are going to be two strong candidates for first singles going into this year
“The (South Central Ohio League) is always pretty strong across the board. I look forward to the challenge every year,” Red Raiders coach justin Dible said.
“Every league match is a big game. Losing even one can put you in a spot you can’t come back from. We came in fourth last year but I believe we have a great chance to improve that record.”
Madison-Plains
The Golden Eagles also expect to have a solid season.
“We have six returning lettermen,” Madison-Plains coach Sam Mierzejewski said. “Unfortunately we only have eight total players on the team this year, but all of them have been working very hard in order to prepare for our first match.”
Jessica Lahna was second team all-SCOL. Bailey Mierzejewski and Casey Knisley were first-team all-SCOL and two-time defending first doubles SCOL league champions with a 13-1 record.
“Our league is tough from top to bottom as usual,” coach Mierzejewski said. “Miami Trace and Washington Court House are always tough competition with the rest of the league close behind.”
