Reds’ broadcaster promises to shave head
CINCINNATI (AP) — Longtime Cincinnati Reds’ broadcaster Marty Brennaman’s hair might soon be out of here.
He had promised recently to shave his head if the Reds won 10 in a row. The National League Central Division leaders won 7-2 at Colorado on Sunday for their 10th straight, despite having top hitter Joey Votto sidelined two weeks ago by a knee injury.
After his trademark “And this one belongs to the Reds,” Brennaman pledged Sunday: “I’m going to shave my head absolutely bald.”
The 2000 Ford Frick award winner for major contributions to baseball by a broadcaster says he has some television commercials to film first, but will lose his hair in Cincinnati later this week. Brennaman turned 70 on Saturday.
