PICKENS

Harvey Drue Pickens, 62, of London, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his home surrounded by family. After six years he finally lost his courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in June 6, 1950, in Springfield, Ohio, to Harvey and Maxine Pickens.
Drue was a proud grandfather, great friend, hard worker and loving father and husband.
He graduated from London High School in 1968 and worked as a self-employed contractor for 40 years in the community.
He was preceded in death by his father; twin brother, Hugh; and brother, Kris.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, of 44 years; children, Sean (Jody) and Ashli; four grandchildren, Chelsee and Logan Pickens, Cameron and Zachary Jasper; many wonderful friends who came and shared in caring for him through this difficult time; mother, Maxine Pickens; sister, Lynette Langfit; sister-in-law, Diane Pickens; numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION, 124 E. High St., London, from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, July 15, where a celebration of Drue’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012. The Reverend Sue McClelland will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Paint Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Capital Campaign, London First United Methodist Church or Loving Care Hospice, London. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
