Come out to the fairgrounds Saturday and watch ‘em run.
Trotters and pacers will take to the 1/2 mile oval at the Madison County Fairgrounds with post time at 1 p.m. Saturday.
And the price is right.
Can you say FREE?

Ray Belt concludes a recent exercise session at the Madison County fairgrounds. His horses will race Sunday. Harness races will be held Saturday with free admission.
No charge to enter the fairgrounds that day to see four scheduled races:
• Pace, two-year old colt
• Trot, three-year old colt
• Trot, two-year old filly
• Pace, three-year old filly
Race secretary Gerald McHenry said the race track is in real good shape.
He points out with the free admission races will be the only event on the schedule. No amusement rides will be operating that day.
Harness racing will continue on Sunday, with a card of six races scheduled. With Sunday as the “official” opening of the fair, admission will be charged.
The races will include:
• Pace, three-year old colt
• Trot, two-year old colt
• Pace, two-year old filly
• Trot, three-year old filly
• Pace, mares four years and up
• Overnight event
Some Madison County trainers will have horses in the running on Sunday. Ken Williams will run a two-year old trotting colt. Ray and Laura Belt will race a two-year old pacing filly and two three-year old pacing colts.
Post time both days will be 1 p.m.
