“The West Jefferson High School marching band is raising money to replace uniforms,” band director Elmer Broecker said.
“The number of students in the band is growing and we have a lot of problems fitting some of the students. Our uniforms were purchased before I got here and were only designed to last five to seven years. The funds raised by this car show will help us resolve the uniform situation. The idea for the car show was suggested by band member Jeff Kennedy and we appreciate everyone coming out to our first ever car show and supporting our band.”
Trophies are being donated by Performance Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, with door prizes donated from Ramey’s Tire and Auto, Tractor Supply Company (West Broad St), Five Guys, West Jefferson Hardware, Larry B’s Meat and Cheese, Subway, and others. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, July 29, with the same times and prizes.
