Accident claims 27-year-old

A 27-year-old Washington C.H. woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on U.S. Route 62 at Tenny Road in Pickaway County.

Laura A. Gatton was pronounced dead at the scene by Pickaway County Coroner Michael Geron following the accident, which occurred at 6:58 a.m.

According to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, Gatton was driving northwest on U.S. 62 when she lost control of her vehicle and was struck by a southeast-bound vehicle, driven by Joshua A. Peart, 37, of Orient. Peart was taken to Mt. Carmel Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
