John E. Thomas, 66, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 4, 2012, at his residence.

He was a retired dairy farmer.

He was a former employee of Select Embryo’s, HI Huffman, and Roby Chevrolet.

A graduate of Jonathan Alder, he was the first person at the school to receive the State Chapter FFA Award.

During his farming years he was very mechanically minded, and could fix anything on the farm. He also enjoyed gardening and his yard work.

John was born March 26, 1946, in Madison County, to the late Ira and Florence O’Harra Thomas.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Rice.

He married the former Lynnetta F. Wilson on May 11, 1979, at the Milford Center United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lynnetta; a great-niece, Leanna Kay Wilson of the home; siblings, William “Bill” (Ann) Thomas of Bellefontaine, Donald L. Thomas of London, Pat Hoodlet of Richwood; and many numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, at the INGRAM FUNERAL HOME, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville, OH 43040, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012. The Rev. James Taylor will be officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Center Cemetery.

Friends may contribute to their favorite charity in his memory in care of the funeral home.
