HAY
Martha Elizabeth (Straley) Hay, 60, of London, passed way early afternoon on Friday, May 11, 2012.
Martha was born Dec. 31, 1951, on a small farm in Mt. Sterling. She was the daughter of Don Brown and Anna (Dillon) Jividen, but happily raised and fathered by her dad Herb Straley.
Martha was a private, in home, nurses aid, for many years. She enjoyed spending every Monday and Saturday with her girlfriends playing Bingo and going out to eat.
Martha is survived by her son, Timothy McCoy Hay of Springfield; two daughters, Jimmy and Michelle (Hay) Griffitts of London, and DeeDee Hay of Columbus; her five grandchildren, Ashley, Brendan, and Kendall Hay, Jimmy Griffitts IV, and Haiden M. Hay; her two brothers, Tim and Laura Payne and Raymond and Missy Straley, both of Springfield; three sisters, Sandra (Brown) Hicks of Columbus, Ray and Della (Straley) Paris of Springfield, and Darlene (Straley) Parker of Piketon; lifelong friends/sisters and aunts to her children, Marvin Harper, Debbie Crawford, of Springfield and Dana Iams of London; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Anna (Dillon) Jividen; father, Don Brown; dad, Herb Straley; her aunts, Lulu Grable, Mary Roberts, Minnie Barnett, Martha Hunt, and Welma Hitch; her uncles, Raymond Johnson, Hap and Bobo Dillon; lifelong friend and Bingo buddy, Mary Louise Davis.
Martha’s family invites friends to call at the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 124 E. High St., London, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, where a celebration of Martha’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012. The Reverend William Crowe will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s memory at the Merchants National Bank in her name or at the funeral home. Envelopes will be available.
