HOLTON
Alvin Ray Holton, 70, of London, died Friday, March 30, 2012, in Winter Haven, Florida.
Alvin was born April 18, 1941, in Madison County, Ohio, a son of Ray Holton and Zada (Johnson) Policaro.
He was a member of the London First Presbyterian Church.
He had been owner/operator of Hickory Grove Golf Course and was retired from Navistar. Alvin enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time in Florida. He had many friends that he would golf and fish with.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon “Maggie” Holton, to whom he had been married for 51 years; daughters, Denise (Delbert) Maynard, Wendy (Larry) Bobo, and Beth (Shannon) McVey, all of London; brother, Eldon (Sandy) Holton of Springfield; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the London First Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Gordon Johnson will be officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, London. Alvin’s family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Alvin’s memory, to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the church.
The family has entrusted Alvin’s funeral arrangements to the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 124 E. High St., London, Ohio.
