14 injured in school bus crash in northwest Ohio

VAN WERT, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say 14 people were injured after a vehicle and a school bus carrying a baseball team collided in northwest Ohio.

The State Highway Patrol in Van Wert said Tuesday night that eight students on the bus had to be transported to the Paulding County Hospital, along with five passengers from the other vehicle. None of those injuries were considered serious.

The patrol said the driver of the 2005 Toyota Sienna was flown to a hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind., where her condition is unknown.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday as the school bus from Hicksville Schools was headed to an afternoon baseball game.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
