Virginia Ann Manville, 79, of Delaware, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at her residence.

A loving homemaker, she was employed 15 years with Nationwide prior to raising her family and enjoyed a 10 year career in the customs department at Honda of America before her retirement.

She was a current member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Delaware and was a longtime former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Marysville.

Virginia was an active member of the Upper Arlington Senior Center, loved playing euchre with her card club and was a 10 year volunteer with in the gift shop at Grady Memorial Hospital where she loved visiting with patients and new parents. She enjoyed gardening and horses and was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Affectionately known as “Grandma M,” Virginia possessed a terrific sense of humor and was always concerned for the well-being of others before her own needs. She loved being surrounded by her family and was very proud of her sons and grandchildren.

She was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Hamilton, to the late Carl and Anna Meier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gene Manville; two sisters, Dorothy Pengelly and Erma McCutchen; and two brothers, Edward Meier and Bob Meier.

Survivors include her two sons, Mark (Becky) Manville of London and Jason (Sharon) Manville of Madison, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Josephine, Xavier, and Octavius Manville, Carla Badenna, and Kevin (Tabatha) Badenna; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie; her sister, Florence Jackson of Loveland, Colorado; her brother, Harold (Ann) Meier of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at MANNASMITH FUNERAL HOME, 621 W. Fifth St., Marysville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012. Reverend Kathy Reiff will be officiating. Burial will take place at Claibourne Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
