GAMMELL

Barbara Jean Gammell, 71, of Centerburg, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.

She was born Dec. 21, 1940, in London, to the late Charlene and Ralph Boysel.

Barbara was a long-time resident of Centerburg.

She was a 1958 graduate of London High School.

She loved spending time with her two grandchildren, making beautiful afghans, gardening, word puzzles, reading romance novels and babysitting.

She is survived by her son, Eric (Cheryl) Gammell of Centerburg; grandchildren, Savannah and Amaiah Gammell of Centerburg; stepdaughters, Vicki (George) Cain of London, Kathy Colvin of Springfield, and Beverly (Glen) Howard of Five Points; brothers, Jerry (Sandra) Boysel of Oklahoma, Charlie Boysel of Florida and Bill (Mary) Boysel of Springfield; sisters, Judy Brooks of Urbana, Julia Cuccio of Oklahoma and Doreena Roby of London; sister-in-law, Marcella Sanders of London; and several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Preceded her in death are her parents, Ralph and Charlene Boysel; her husband, Rodger E. Gammell; a son, Robert E. Gammell; a stepson, Rodger E. Gammell II; a stepdaughter, Connie Howard; and a step-granddaughter, Megan Adair.

A memorial service is being planned for family and friends to attend in the Spring.
