Kristine Blind is the new treasurer of London City Schools, effective Aug. 29.
Board of education members unanimously approved a two-year contract for Blind at an emergency meeting on Wednesday.
Blind comes to London from the Upper Scioto Valley Local School District in Hardin County where she currently serves as treasurer. Prior to that job, she was assistant treasurer at Warren Local Schools.
“We believe that London is an outstanding school system and we are pleased that we found someone who matches our expectations of excellence, experience and integrity,” said Vici Geer, board president. “Having a highly qualified professional in this position will help guide us in the important decisions that we have to make going forward.”
Blind expressed enthusiasm for her new position.
“I am pleased to be here,” she told board members on Wednesday. “I think it will be a good fit.”
Updating the district’s five-year financial forecast will be among Blind’s first responsibilities, Geer noted.
Blind’s salary for the upcoming school year is set at $79,000 for London City Schools, with another $5,000 for overseeing the books of London Academy — the district’s community school.
Also on Wednesday, school board members approved a purchase services contract between the district and the academy.

Great – the “Blind’ leading the blind. I’m still not voting for anything until I see a turnover in administration.
Ditto!
